SETTING BACKGROUND
Red vs Blue is a machinima webseries set in the Halo universe about two opposing teams fighting in a canyon that later turn out to be simulation troopers used to test the agents of Project Freelancer, an organization with questionable experiments that aims to win the Great War to save the human race. The Reds & Blues come in contact with artificial intelligence and from there they find themselves in the middle of multiple wars and gradually save the universe despite becoming increasingly dumber and sadder in the process.

CRAU HISTORY
RP NAME: [community profile] piper90
Finding himself in a setting relatively similar to Project Freelancer and surrounded by many of his beloved agents, Price thought of taking them back by exposing his version of the truth to appear more sympathetic. He failed spectacularly, receiving hatred and backlash not only from them but also from bystanders from other universes, becoming enemies with basically everyone.

The rejection and inability to regain control over a dangerous situation sent him on an odd psychological spiral for which he somehow age regressed to when he was even less well-adjusted compared to his very dignified Project Freelancer self. In fact he's been striving to get back to who he was during PFL, where he could be only his job and not a person with flaws and emotions of his own, mostly wishing that the Director was there with him to tell him what to do and allow him to be evil for science.

Yet he managed to make friends with Dan Sagittarius, who saw through his strange demeanour and decided to offer him kindness and understanding. Price tried to push him away multiple times but the man wouldn't budge, much to the concern of Stacia and Bunny who expressed a certain wariness when interacting with him. Also he hit Loken with a laser for the thrill of it.

PERSONALITY
Price's motivations are dictated by self preservation, and he doesn't hesitate to kill someone or get them killed if he believes it to be necessary. That being said, while generally being cold and calculating, he can indulge in doing something reckless or dangerous every now and then. Mostly, however, he tries to hold back the Director when he is being overly aggressive or destructive in favour of a more optimal solution. He will only take risks if he sees great benefit in them.

He expresses himself in an overly formal manner, coming across as intimidating and perhaps slightly awkward. While he is undoubtedly scary, on a physical level he is very easy to bully and threaten, and mostly he cowardly seeks protection in someone bigger or more authoritative than him and rarely faces opponents alone. Even when protected, he likes to 'hit and run' by provoking someone and not really deal with the consequences.
Extremely curious, he likes to ask questions and to annoy those he finds interesting. Generally doesn't harbour negative feelings towards people.

Personality variations/evolutions from P90 CRAU - Price complained several times that Project Freelancer was his family and that he wanted it back, risking everything in a last attempt to save face and bring the agents on his side. When he found himself alone, in danger, and completely powerless without the ability to reclaim his identity as the Counselor, he lost control and kept putting his foot in his mouth in a series of aggressive or self destructive behaviours. He is still holding onto Project Freelancer and rejecting - fearing - the idea of becoming his own person, trying way too hard not to acknowledge his past.

POWER TYPE
Roughing it.

ABILITIES
Price is shown to be able to use guns, but other than that he doesn't have combat skills. He is gifted with a borderline psychic ability of quick thinking and improvising. Being a professional counselor he knows how to advice and soothe someone with mental problems, and is a good listener and observer. Surprisingly non-judgmental. He can use hypnosis, deescalate conflict, and express himself formally to make official requests.

PIPER 90
  • Upon being brought to a different dimension from his prison cell, the Counselor starts out as his usual cautious self, with the simple objective of keeping a low profile and piecing together the intricacies of the environment that surrounds him.
  • This plan is quickly thrown out of the window when he witnesses people from other points of the timeline - his agents.
  • Blinded by the similarities between Jorgmund and Project Freelancer and his need to save face to show how ultimately perfect and faultless he his, he takes a spectacurlarly huge misstep with his entitled apology.
  • It's in that moment that reality ensues and reminds him that just because his methods have worked in the past they don't necessarily have to work now. Rather than accepting that, he attributes his lack of power to his aging process and 'skills decaying'.
  • The inability to feel secure triggers a downwards mental spiral where the emotions he had kept quiet for more than a decade resurface, and he reverts to the version of himself before Project Freelancer. The one that no one knows about, because he deeply loathes it. For this reason, he deliberately antagonizes everyone, but there are a few exceptions...
